  • Deposits distributed across partner banks: Your savings funds are strategically placed across multiple participating banks, maximizing your FDIC insurance coverage.
  • FDIC insurance protection: Each partner bank covers up to $250,000 per ownership category (individual, joint, etc.).
  • Review and manage your coverage: Check which banks your funds are deposited in and take any necessary steps to maintain full FDIC coverage. Review the Program Terms and Conditions for complete details and disclosures.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is FDIC insurance?

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is an independent agency of the U.S. government. It insures deposits at member banks in the event of a bank failure, covering up to $250,000 per depositor, per bank, per ownership category. This insurance safeguards common deposit accounts such as checking accounts, savings accounts, money market accounts, and CDs.

How does expanded FDIC insurance work?

Expanded FDIC Insurance provides the same protections described above but covers more than $250K in balances. The program works the same way it would if you manually opened accounts with different banks. We just do it seamlessly and automatically in the background so you can access all your cash through Axos instead of having to use multiple banks and manage multiple accounts.

How does this affect my account?

In short, it doesn’t. You continue to manage all your deposits at Axos from within your Axos banking app. In the background, the Axos Insured Deposit Program automatically moves dollars in your Axos ONE Savings account to our network of participating banks. You’ll continue to earn the same rate and enjoy all the same product features you would if you were not opted in to the program. There are no fees or increased costs associated with this program.

How can I opt in?

Enroll via online banking under the 'I want to' section in your account details or via the mobile app within account settings. Click through the enrollment flow and accept disclosures to opt-in.
