Raymond D. Matsumoto

Raymond D. Matsumoto is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Axos Bank. He brings extensive experience in strategic planning, finance, transformation, operations, technology, and organizational leadership. In his capacity as COO, Mr. Matsumoto oversees the Bank’s and Securities’ Technology, Operations, Security, and a broad range of administrative functions, consistently driving results within Axos’ meritocratic, performance-focused culture.

Prior to joining Axos Bank, Mr. Matsumoto served as Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at CIT, where he led the Transformation Management Office supporting the company’s strategic repositioning and integration initiatives. His responsibilities also spanned Corporate Service Sourcing and Contracts, Security, and Resolution Planning. Earlier in his career, he held executive leadership roles at OneWest Bank and IndyMac Bank.

Mr. Matsumoto began his career with 18 years at KPMG, advancing to Senior Manager as a Certified Public Accountant, and later served as Chief Financial and Operations Officer for a consumer food products company. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from the University of California, Berkeley.
