John Tolla

John Tolla is Executive Vice President and Chief Governance, Risk, and Compliance Officer for Axos Bank. In this role, Mr. Tolla oversees the Bank’s enterprise risk management and compliance programs, leading teams across ERM, Consumer and Lending Compliance, BSA/AML, Third Party Risk, and Credit Risk Management. He is responsible for strengthening governance frameworks, ensuring regulatory alignment, and advancing the Bank’s risk strategy in support of long term operational resilience.

Mr. Tolla joined Axos Bank in December 2013. Prior to that, he held leadership roles at BearingPoint and Booz Allen, where his work focused on regulatory compliance, strategic process improvement, and risk management for clients operating in highly regulated industries. His experience spans advisory services, operational optimization, and the development of risk based control environments for complex organizations.

Mr. Tolla received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Seton Hall University in 2000. He went on to earn both his Juris Doctorate in 2006 and his M.B.A. in 2007. He has served at Axos Financial since 2013.
