Tucker Hughes is Executive Vice President, Head of Commercial Real Estate for Axos Bank. He is responsible for nationwide construction, bridge, value-add, and stabilized lending products.
Prior to joining Axos Bank, Tucker was an advisor for a $300 billion+ pension fund. He held various roles at Bank OZK (formerly Bank of the Ozarks), worked at a local development firm, and started his career at a smaller community bank in Dallas, TX.
Tucker and his partners provided advisory services for a large pension fund and closed approximately $1.7 billion in late 2018 and early 2019. Prior to the consulting arrangement, Tucker worked in the Real Estate Specialties Group (RESG) for Bank OZK from 2007 to 2018, advancing from an associate to Managing Director, where he oversaw the production efforts for approximately two-thirds of the U.S. (Central and Western). Tucker was one of the first members of RESG and was instrumental in the growth and culture of the group, which produced approximately $25 billion in loans during his tenure.
Tucker earned his BBA from the University of Texas (Hook ‘em!) and his MBA from Southern Methodist University with a concentration in Finance.
